Halls of Fame

Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, is the physical home of three Canadian Music Halls of Fame.

Canadian Music Hall of Fame

The Canadian Music Hall of Fame was established in 1978 and recognizes Canadian artists that have attained commercial success while having a positive impact on the Canadian music scene here at home and around the world.

The National Music Centre is working with the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to collect and exhibit the Canadian Music Hall of Fame Collection. CARAS is the governing body for the Hall of Fame and makes annual inductions in the artist, industry and humanitarian categories each year at the JUNO Awards.

Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame

The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) has been honouring Canadian Artists and Builders who have made long-term contributions to the growth and development of Canadian country music since 1984. Inductees into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame (Hall of Fame) are selected annually by their Canadian peers in the industry. The Hall of Fame is managed by the CCMA Board of Directors’ appointed Hall of Fame Management Committee (Management Committee).

The National Music Centre and the Canadian Country Music Association have formed a truly national partnership that inducts, collects and exhibits the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and its collection.

Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame

The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) honours and celebrates Canadian songwriters and those who have dedicated their lives to the legacy of music, and works to educate the public about these achievements. National and non-profit, the CSHF is guided by its own board of directors who comprise both Anglophone and Francophone music creators and publishers, as well as representation from the record industry. In December 2011, SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) acquired the CSHF. The Hall of Fame’s mandate aligns with SOCAN’s objectives as a songwriter and publisher membership-based organization.
